First Stop: Kissos – A Village Draped in Green
Distance from Volos: 45 km (~1 hour 10 minutes by road)
Hidden among chestnut and beech trees, Kissos is a village where nature reigns. Here, stone houses peek through dense foliage, and the cool mountain air carries the scent of wild herbs and damp earth.
What to See & Do
- Visit the Church of Agia Marina, adorned with 18th-century frescoes – a masterpiece of religious art
- Wander through stone-paved alleys, stopping for coffee in a quiet square under ancient plane trees
- Observe daily village life, where locals still gather for long conversations and a sip of tsipouro

Second Stop: Damouchari – The Enchanted Harbor
Distance from Kissos: 14 km (~30 minutes by road)
As the road descends, the scent of salt fills the air, and suddenly, the Aegean unfolds before us. Hidden in a quiet, sheltered bay, Damouchari is a place of old-world charm, a tiny fishing village untouched by time.
What to See & Do
- Walk along the remains of the old Venetian port, where merchant ships once docked
- Discover the filming location of Mamma Mia! and feel like part of a story
- Take a leisurely stroll along the pebbled shore, enjoying the contrast of turquoise sea and rugged cliffs
- Optional: Enjoy a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters

Third Stop: Tsagarada – The Land of Giants
Distance from Damouchari: 8 km (~20 minutes by road)
Climbing back up into the mountain, we arrive in Tsagarada, one of Pelion’s most beautiful and historic villages. Here, everything feels larger than life—the grand stone mansions, the towering plane trees, and the sweeping views over the Aegean.
What to See & Do
- Visit the legendary 1,000-year-old plane tree, standing proudly in the central square
- Walk through the village’s elegant archways and ivy-covered courtyards
- Admire the stone-built mansions that showcase Pelion’s architectural heritage
- Enjoy a leisurely traditional meal in a local taverna
